A Note On Distance:
When you look at what your bicycle odometer, Google Maps, your GPS from your phone, your GPS from one smartwatch, your GPS from another smartwatch, and a dedicated Garmin GPSmap 60CSx tell you 50 miles is. You'll find you have 6 different readings.
The Google Map link above states it is 50.6 miles. However, Garmin Mapsource and their GPS state you actually need to go 0.6 miles past what Google Maps thinks is 50 miles. According to Garmin, you actually turn around just a little bit before you get to the Murdock Canal Trailhead parking (in Lehi) whereas Garmin says you turn around 1,279.42 feet afterwards (at about 250 feet before the trailhead). So, just to be safe go to that trailhead and have a break. If you want exact readings, I've got them below.
Download this GPS track to view a 50-mile ride.
Here is a Google Earth KMZ file - download this and open it in Google Earth. You can also open Google Earth Web, and import this file (currently done by clicking Projects | Open | Import KML file from computer).
Here's the ride we did and what each entity thinks it is in miles:
53.0 miles = Garmin LiveTrack
53.06 miles = Smartwatch 1
52.6 miles = Bike odometer
52.2 miles = Google Maps
52.03 miles = Smartwatch 2
51.7 miles = Garmin GPSmap 60CSx

Why did we do more miles? Because instead of stopping at the Murdock Canal Trailhead in Lehi, we went to what was the End of the Line for that bike trail (where construction started and you couldn't go any further - an estimated 0.57 miles further to see where the trail ended). We also went around the pond at Highland Glen.
Starting at Vivan Park, pedal to Lehi. Then, pedal back to the Provo River Parkway trail and down to Utah Lake.
This breaks it down into 5 mile segments and shows how long it took us on each segment.
Finally, our elevation loss, speed, and how hot it got (55.4 °F to 105.8 °F)
