High Uintah's Campout

At 4:30am, you may have to put your rainfly on if it's blue skies and no chance of rain according to the weather report.  This is the Uintah's after all.

Does the no burritos for dinner policy mean I can't be a burrito in my hammock?

Can you cook Tocolate Tip cookies on a griddle?  Or can you make a big mess?  I'm still not sure we know the answer to that - LOL.

Have some whipping cream for breakfast.

I think I'd rather have French Toast.

On this campout, if it wasn't on the packing list we didn't bring it.  No tables, paper towels for cleaning, no can openers, etc.  Luckily, one of the boys had a fancy multi-tool credit card with a can opener on it.

It turned out really great.  The list we did have included propane on it so our stove worked (was a bit worried about that one).

Waterfall at the beginning of our hike.

This is such a nice area.

Normally the river isn't completely dried up.

You'd be able to hop from rock to rock over the river avoiding getting wet.

There's even a zipline across the river (though the pulley on it was broken this year).

Even with the riverbed being almost completely dry everywhere.  Wyatt found the one place that he could to fall in and get wet.  Had sopping wet shoes and socks for most of the hike.

Utah is absolutely gorgeous (did you see that pun there - we're hiking in a gorge).

Hopping from rock to rock.

It was the perfect temperature for hiking too.

Even Mr. Caterpillar was having a great day today.

Time to head back.

This is the Gorge we just hiked.

It's been a lot of fun.

The fish are biting.
